You leave this practical, small group training with a mind full of new tricks and techniques, eagerness to share, experience of teaching, confidence and clarity, a global family and a new home away from home for life!

 

During this training, you’ll gain all the tools and inspiration that you need to feel confident in leading a variety of mindfulness and meditation techniques to children of all ages and abilities.

 

This 6 day retreat (with 4 days of the course) in Thailand is full of learning, laughing and creating in an inspiring and supportive community as you delve into the creative and magical word of mindfulness and meditation for children. Whilst being surrounded by nature and immersed among curious children with bright smiles and pure hearts who attend the School for Students with Special needs of the Thai Child Development Foundation.

 

Your trainer during this certified Yoga Alliance Registered Course is no one less than the internationally well renowned  Laura McEgan, founder and director of Divine Light Yoga! 

Laura (U.K.) is an ERYT-500 Hour and a Children's Yoga Teacher Trainer having studied over 1000-Hours of Yoga and 18 years experience of working with children and young people in both educational and therapeutic settings.

 

The course starts at 700$ all in with 5 nights stay and healthy meals at the beautiful riverside Eco-Logic - Resort for Charity

.

Good to know: with your participation in this course you support education for children with special needs and also provide free training for caretakers of underprivileged local children with special needs!

 

Maximum number of participants to this group is 12, to ensure high quality and personal attention to all.

This course is for you if you are

 

  • An educator who wishes to integrate meditation into your every-day classroom routine and regular activities within your class schedule

  • A school therapist or counselor who would like to use meditation techniques as an additional therapeutic technique and to introduce self-regulation tools for children to use independently

  • Working with children with special needs including ADHD, Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, Behavioral, Social & Emotional Disorders

  • A conscious parent who is eager to support and enhance your child’s emotional and mental well-being through mindfulness and meditation

ABOUT LAURA MCEGAN

Laura has over 18 years experience of both yoga and education. Prior to teaching yoga, Laura was an international primary school teacher; with a BA Degree in Education and Special Needs and over 16 years experience of working with children in educational and therapeutic settings throughout Asia and the UK. 

 

Working with a range of educational curriculum and philosophies including, Montessori, Reggio Emilia and the UK Foundation Stage Curriculum, has enabled Laura to create a unique form of Children’s Yoga as she combines her knowledge of educational philosophy and teaching methodology with the teachings and practices of yoga.

Laura is dedicated to life-long learning and to sharing her passion and knowledge of education and yoga with others; she is committed to supporting children and young people world-wide to become emotionally-balanced, creative, open-minded individuals who feel confident and compassionate in all that they do.

  • Mindful Movement & Walking Meditations
    An absolute must for anyone teaching young children or those with challenging behavior and attention difficulties.

  • The 4-Stages of Meditation & Script Writing
    Tap into your creativity and start writing your own meaningful meditation and visualizations scripts using Laura’s unique formula and in-person guidance

  • Positive Behaviour Management in the Meditation Space
    Laura knows how to make behavior management fun, positive and beneficial for all, enhancing children’s social and emotional skills through playful and therapeutic approaches to behavior management techniques.

  • Making it a Holistic Experience
    earn all about Laura’s top tips and tricks to make children’s meditation a magical, holistic experience in which we can nurture children’s minds and enhance their emotional intelligence. 

  • Mandala Art  Meditations
    We’ll delve into classic mandala meditation techniques and explore new variations, to enhance children’s patience, awareness, creativity and focus through various art media

  • Yoga Nidra
    Known traditionally as The Yogic Sleep, learn how to introduce and use this with children and teens, to deepen their relaxation, helping children with sleep difficulties and anxiety.

  • Mantra Meditations
    This is always a favorite of children and teens and one of the best techniques to keep children’s mind focused and engaged. You’ll feel confident and clear on how to introduce and lead mantra meditations with all ages.

  • Course Creation
    Let’s set you up with your own brand new course, tailored towards your interests and your community. Laura will guide you into creating a unique Mindful Meditation course that will have parents and educators on your waiting list!

LOCATION

Stay in one of the beautiful private jungalows, rooms or dormitory of Eco-Logic Thailand. 

The riverside guestrooms can be booked as a private room, as well as a shared room (2 people).
