Our vision on responsible & sustainable travelling

‘Ecotourism is tourism that respects and supports the local environment: both nature as well as the local community & culture’

Most types of tourism and travel are by definition not environmental-friendly or sustainable….

However, we live in a beautiful world that we wish to enjoy, not everybody has the time or means to travel to Thailand by bike... and travelling can have tremendous positive  impact as well on your mental well-being, especially if you're not used to going out of your comfort zone

Sustainable travel can also have a positive impact on the community you visit by creating jobs and awareness on the preservation of natural resources and traditional cultural systems.

Environmental friendliness is not our goal- then we would not have a travel focused organisation- however  it is the way we work: Ecologic Thailand aims to offer travelers with awareness a sustainable choice.

At Eco-Logic we try to keep our carbon footprint as low as possible and thanks to our visitors we do make an enormous social impact by supporting the local community through creating fair jobs, offering free environmental education activities for local children all year round AND returning ALL profits back to the local community through our foundation!

Eco-Logic works hand in hand with the Thai Child Development Foundation (TCDF), which is located on the same premises. With all actions, activities, projects and decisions Eco-Logic tries to choose the option that damages the local environment as little as possible. In addition, Eco-Logic runs several projects that generate a positive effect on the environment. For visitors who are interested, we are more than happy to share our  :

Our vision on responsible & sustainable travelling

We all produce carbon dioxide (CO2), directly or indirectly, when we use products produced using fossil fuels. For example, we directly produce carbon dioxide when we drive a car or take a flight. We also indirectly produce carbon dioxide when we eat food that has been produced with artificial fertilisers and pesticides (which are made from oil). In total, the amount of carbon dioxide you produce is your “carbon footprint.”

Flights account for around 2.5% of global carbon dioxide production. And because planes fly high in the atmosphere, the greenhouse gases they emit do more damage than on the ground.

Therefore  a trip to Thailand is never really environmentally friendly….

But we do love travelling and are big believers in the positive benefits of travelling, so at Eco-Logic Thailand we do our best to offer you an sustainable travel alternative.

Eco-Logic Thailand will also help offset our international visitors flight's carbon emissions to ecologic by planting thousands of trees yearly during the rainy season from July- October.

Why plant trees?

Trees have been quietly offsetting these carbon emissions for centuries, converting carbon dioxide into the oxygen we need for life.  Trees help regulate the local climate, produce oxygen, improve soil quality, attract wildlife, and absorb CO2! In terms of climate change mitigation, planting tropical moist forests soaks up an average of about 26 tons of carbon dioxide per hectare per year for at least 20 years.Large-scale tropical reforestation could make a huge dent in carbon emissions.

How many trees are needed to offset my carbon footprint?

An economy-class round trip flight from London to New York causes about 1.8 tons of CO2.  This would mean you would need to maintain 0.72 acre for one year in order to absorb the carbon that was produced by that flight. )

Act Local, Think Global!

Eco-Logic has been a front runner in sustainable tourism since 2004!

We hope to welcome you to Eco-Logic Thailand soon.

To see how your trip can positively benefit the local community have a look at Eco_Logic's programs and actions towards the sustainability goals set by the United Nations for 2030:

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 global goals designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all".
